Build your pelvic floor and core to support your mom body!

Perform Pilates exercises that target your deep core muscles, to prevent pelvic floor dysfunction from pregnancy and birth.

Your deep core is most effected by pregnancy and birth and needs the most tender love and care before resuming more high impact activity.

Support your body through corrective Pilates exercise which has proven to be effective when combined with pelvic floor exercise to reduce back ache from all the rigors of motherhood.

This is a beginner Pilates class it is ideal for moms within 5 years postpartum, who want to reconnect and restore function to the deep core system through mindful movement and exercise.

This class is safe for moms with all forms of delivery and those with diastasis recti (wider than normal abdominal separation).

Dr. Ryan Bailey is keeping the class intimate to ensure more personal instruction so sign up now to be one of 5 spots (drop ins posted on Expecting Pelvic Health Facebook page when available)!

Every Tuesday unless a holiday!

PREPARE YOUR PELVIS FOR BIRTH: A MOVEMENT BASED BIRTH EDUCATION CLASS

Birth is a natural process that is influenced by many factors. Some that are outside of our control and others that we have full control of. Learning strategies to prepare your pelvis and body for birth by eliminating effects of bad posture, tight muscles and undesirable movement patterns that may challenge your body’s ability to have a baby naturally is one way to take control.

This movement based class gives you tools to use leading up to the birth, during labor and immediately post birth that will reduce the risk of medical intervention and birth injury. Which are both associated with long term pelvic floor dysfunction like peeing your pants or pelvic pain. Tuning into your body with these strategies sets yourself up for a smoother labor, birth and recovery.

You’ll learn:

  • Pelvic anatomy

  • “Getting to know” your pelvic anatomy exercises

  • Breathing exercises

    • For pain management

    • Tuning into your pelvic floor

  • Ways to create space in your pelvis through:

    • Mindful pelvic movements

    • Fascial nourishing

    • Hip stretches

    • Yoga poses

  • Whole body strength & endurance exercises

  • Perineal massage

  • Key birth positions

  • Partner assisted exercises

  • Post birth pelvic floor care

Connect with other moms and add to your community of support in this 3 day class! One partner per pregnant person is welcome to join (per class) and is highly recommended to participate!

Be prepared to move in this class! Please wear comfortable, stretchy clothing and bring the following (if you own):

  • Birth ball

  • Water

  • large towel

Reconnect & Restore Postpartum Pilates

Reconnect, restore and build your functional core system after pregnancy and birth!

Over 8 weeks learn where your deep core and pelvic floor are and how to tune in to them properly to enhance your postpartum healing process.

Using safe corrective exercises that will lengthen & nourish tight muscles and strengthen and coordinate weak muscles to bring balance to your healing body. Ideal for moms with in 3 years postpartum to build a better understanding of how to integrate the core and pelvic floor into movement before resuming intense exercise and activity.

Babies in arms welcome!

This class is safe for moms as early as 6 weeks postpartum, all forms of delivery and those with diastasis recti (dysfunctional abdominal separation).

Dates of Class: May 3, 10, 17, 24, 31, June 14, 21, 28 (No class June 7th)

Time: 10:15 am - 11:00 am

Did you birth your baby by cesarean? Healing from a cesarean presents a unique set of physical and emotional challenges. Whether you're weeks or years out from your cesarean, there are things you can do to optimize your healing.

Join Taylor Davis, VBAC mentor, certified doula and ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network) leader, Dr. Ryan Bailey, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Women's Health Specialist, Pre/postnatal Exercise Specialist, and Krista Maltais, Advanced Postpartum Doula, Advanced Lactation Consultant, and Owner of Relief Parenting, to process your birth and postpartum experiences and learn how you can support your body and mind to heal.

We will:
Share and process your birth experiences
Discuss ways to actively engage in the continued process of healing if you're carrying grief around your birth experience
Celebrate your strength, as we believe cesarean birth is brave
Learn how you can care for your scar, pelvic floor, and core as you heal from your cesarean
Discuss options for future births [if you're planning any]
